Pinnacle Executive Recruiting is proud to partner with SRP Federal Credit Union in the search for an Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Accounting and Finance. This is an on-site position located at SRP’s Administrative Campus in North Augusta, SC.
This role provides leadership and operational oversight of the credit union’s accounting, financial reporting, cash management, and financial analysis functions. The AVP works closely with the CFO, Controller, auditors, and cross-functional partners to enhance reporting processes, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive data-informed decision-making. A key focus of this position is to modernize systems, implement automation, and lead process improvements that strengthen financial controls and reporting integrity.
Lead efforts to modernize, automate, and streamline outdated accounting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Finalize and review monthly and quarterly financial reports, including Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL) estimates, budget variance analyses, and related schedules.
Ensure timely submission of all regulatory filings, including the NCUA Call Report, annual personal property tax returns, and other legally required reports.
Support internal and external auditors, regulators, and examiners, ensuring accuracy and full preparedness for reviews.
Maintain adherence to GAAP and compliance with FAS ASC 326 (CECL guidance).
Asset & Liability Management (ALM)
Monitor ALM and liquidity models, providing detailed reporting and insights for quarterly ALCO meetings.
Support the CFO and Treasury function in managing balance sheet strategies and liquidity planning.
Leadership & Team Development
Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to accounting and finance team members. Conduct regular team meetings to review performance, address improvements, and align goals with organizational strategy.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position supervises accounting and finance personnel, overseeing performance management, workload distribution, and professional development.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
Master’s degree or CPA designation preferred.
Ten (10) + years of progressive experience in accounting and finance management, preferably within a financial institution or credit union.
Advanced understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, and CECL requirements. Proficiency with accounting and financial software systems; experience with ERP or core credit union systems preferred.
