Director, Communications

We are proud to partner with SRP Federal Credit Union, located in beautiful North Augusta, South Carolina. SRP is seeking an accomplished Director of Communications to help elevate and amplify its story—both inside the organization and throughout the communities it serves.
This is an on-site role. Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the North Augusta region and work in the office daily.

The Director of Communications is a leader responsible for designing and executing integrated communication strategies that strengthen SRP’s brand, and deepen member and ambassador connections. Working in close partnership with the Director of Marketing, this role ensures that storytelling, messaging, and brand communications are fully aligned with marketing efforts.
Strategic Leadership
Serve as a trusted communications advisor, providing strategic counsel on messaging, reputation management, and organizational storytelling.
External Communications & Public Relations
Lead media relations, press releases, and public statements to ensure positive and consistent visibility.
Develop and lead crisis communication planning and response efforts.
Internal Communications
Create and sustain clear, engaging internal communication channels that keep ambassadors informed, aligned, and inspired.
Oversee internal newsletters, intranet content, and ambassador recognition communications.
Digital & Brand Management
Direct digital communications strategies, including website content, email marketing, and social media presence.
Ensure brand consistency across all channels, campaigns, and materials.
Measure and analyze communication effectiveness, using insights to drive continuous improvement.
Community & Member Engagement
Support community outreach initiatives, events, and sponsorships that reinforce SRP’s mission and visibility.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and inspire communications team members, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and collaboration.
Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and project timelines with a focus on quality and efficiency.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure all communications comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field required.
Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, ideally within financial services or member-focused organizations.
