We are excited to announce the search for a Recruiting Manager for Pelican Credit Union in Baton Rouge, LA. Candidates must live in—or be willing to relocate to—this beautiful region and work on-site daily. This is a leadership role, requiring prior experience managing and developing people.
The Recruiting Manager leads a team of recruiters and support staff, driving effective strategies to attract top talent and build a strong, diverse pipeline for the Credit Union’s future needs. This leader will motivate a high-performance team, deliver timely feedback, and coach recruiters on sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding to ensure consistency and excellence.
Experience & Education
5+ years managing full-cycle recruiting from requisition to onboarding
Experience using assessments such as Hogan, MBTI, DISC, or similar
Financial institution recruiting experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or equivalent experience
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP may substitute for degree; SHRM Talent Acquisition Credential a plus, MBTI, Hogan, or DiSC certifications highly desired
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute recruiting strategies to source top talent
Build internal and external pipelines aligned with growth goals
Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements and critical staffing needs
Collect and analyze recruiting data to improve processes
Build relationships with colleges/universities and attend hiring events
Coordinate job fairs, campus events, and networking opportunities
Monitor LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and similar platforms to support employer brand
Use assessments and data to evaluate and select candidates
Coordinate interview logistics, travel, and accommodations as needed
Oversee reference checks, credential verification, and background screening
